Community Group Support

Our charity also helps groups by offering to train their members so the group becomes able to apply for their own funding. At present we are working with a bowling group to apply for funding to improve heir facilities and also with an Archive Group who wish to set up a Public Archive of memorabilia relevant to their town

ELE Staff have represented East Lancashire at European, National and Regional Conferences and have been partners in European projects, as our training methods have been internationally recognised as examples of good practice, particularly for combating social exclusion.

Jean Weaver was the inspiration behind ELE. She retired in September 2001 after setting up and running our successful and innovative project for 12 years. Jean sadly passed away in 2002 but her wonderful legacy continues
